Philosophy

The human body is a complex and dynamic, physiological/biomechanical system that must be respected by any practitioner utilizing Manual Therapy techniques. This autocorrecting system has sufficient resources to correct dysfunction and alleviate pain if we can provide a caring and thoughtful fulcrum around which the body can effect change. Too often, practitioners “push and pull” on the body to force it to change. This can result in s poor outcome or “treatment trauma,” with a worsening of the patient’s condition.

I created the Fulcrum Institute LLC in 2021 after several years of teaching Manual Therapy classes to health care professionals locally as well as nationally. This institute now serves as a training platform for health care professionals to utilize Osteopathic Manual Therapy techniques in their practice. We utilize an intelligent approach grounded in anatomy and tissue biomechanics to evaluate and treat the patient suffering from a variety of pain and functional syndromes. The use of the patient’s inherent forces to create positive change and true healing is emphasized in our treatment approach.

Gaining proficiency in any body of work takes commitment. While the student may take one or two classes in a tract and be able to offer additional skills during the treatments they provide, profound change for both the student and the patient will happen with the completion of the tract.
